Sketch Cards and NEXT!

I remember when I got my new driver's licence, I saw the expiration date was in 2010. I remember thinking how close to the end of the world that is. It seemed like forever away.

So when 2010 passed, I then thought, "Shit! I forgot to renew my license!"

*ahem*

My point is I just finished 50 sketch cards I promised to the Treasure Chest of Art Charity Project. The deadline is Tuesday, March 15 and it felt like those cards were sitting on my dining room table for 18 hundred years. They're done and they're brilliant! I'm so happy with them and I'm happy it's for charity. Anyway... here they be:

Also, I did a Ninja Turtles puzzle with sketch cards that came out much better than expected. Here:

So what's next?

After I finish this painting...

... I'm going to jump onto some comics projects that have been collecting dust in the military warehouse of my brain next to the Ark of the Covenant. One of them is very dear to my heart. I think it's because I believe that there are not enough general audience comic books out there that this is something I am REALLY interested in pulling off.

And, of course, when it's ready, I'll start posting art from it on here.

Writing a Blog is Hard!

I didn't realize so much time had gone by since my last post. I was planning on having something daily; then weekly. All of a sudden, close to six months had passed and I didn't have anything new. Okay... here's something.

Since before I went to Texas (for my sister's funeral), I started working with a couple of friends on a comic book company. I know, right, a company?

I still feel the idea of starting a comic book company is a bit behind the times seeing that most people have the tools to publish their own content, whether it is on the web or on paper (paper is still my outlet of choice) but these guys are really good people and being a part of something with them is a great honor.

Anyhoo, The above is an illustration of the company's logo (I hope, still haven't had approval) and it kinda signals a return to form for myself in overly rendered pen and ink drawings... ha ha ha. I like that style and it's one of the only types of drawings that leaves me even partially satisfied with the results.

Okay, so when are you going to start seeing content from this comic book company? Very soon. We plan to debut at Mega Con in Orlando... CRAP! Mega Con is soon. I gotta get things made!

Well, good to see y'all again. I have work to do...

later.
